Finding local solutions for implementing global evidence
JBI’s new global initiative in 2021
During 10 days in May, decision makers and clinicians across the world will find solutions to challenges in getting research into practice in unique local contexts across diverse regions as part of the JBI gLocal Solution Room.
The global initiative by JBI comprises a series of dynamic and interactive, locally-held events in various languages, with each event designed to help local healthcare professionals and policymakers get evidence into practice.
‘While the scope of this event is global, the focus is very much on providing pragmatic solutions for implementing evidence-based practice in local settings’, says Prof Zoe Jordan, Executive Director of JBI.
Each local event is free and will be held between 17 to 23 May 2021. As part of each local event, an esteemed panel of experts will give 'real-world' insights during their presentations. The expert presenters will then form a 'think tank' to respond directly to participant questions around challenges in getting evidence into practice in an interactive panel discussion.
‘Challenges in building an evidence base and capacity to implement evidence are diverse and vary between countries, regions, and cultures. The differences in economics, clinical expertise, health policy, health systems and resources often require strategies and solutions that are unique and specific to their local context. We therefore encourage the sharing and localising of knowledge’, says Prof Jordan.
In strengthening the local use of global evidence, JBI recognises the importance of inclusive, shared spaces for international discussion and debate. The JBI gLocal Solution Room will serve as a synchronised, collaborative and widely accessible space to promote evidence-based practice discussion and debate.
The JBI gLocal Solution Room will look both at how global knowledge informs local evidence-based practices and how local experiences influence global thinking in evidence-based healthcare. Each local event aims to catalyse these two forces, contributing to knowledge-sharing efforts globally.
Attendance to all events worldwide is free of charge, and all events will produce a post-event proceedings report to disseminate information on the challenges and solutions highlighted during each event which will be available at ‘Knowledge Exchange’
Please join us for the JBI gLocal Solution Room in one of the local events in your region or via our Knowledge Exchange platform.
