Taking Our Flagship Methodology Symposium Online
What to expect at the global virtual event
Following careful consideration and in response to the current geopolitical climate, JBI iGNITE—our flagship two-day evidence-based healthcare (EBHC) methodology symposium—will now be delivered as a fully online event on 24 – 25 September 2026.

While this was not a decision taken lightly, it presents a valuable opportunity to open the event to a broader global audience, significantly improving accessibility while maintaining the high calibre of speakers and content. It also enables more people to be involved, regardless of location.
Same dates. Same calibre. More accessible than ever.
JBI’s network spans more than 90 organisations across 40+ countries, and many colleagues and partners are from, or are located near, countries experiencing conflict and instability. Security concerns, travel restrictions, and financial pressures are preventing valued members of our global community from travelling internationally. Proceeding with an in-person event under these circumstances would compromise the inclusive and equitable participation that is fundamental to JBI’s mission. Participants will be able to present a virtual poster, attend at a reduced cost, and join from anywhere in the world, with programming designed to support global time zones.
JBI iGNITE was created to challenge and stimulate thinking about the future of EBHC methodology — to spark creativity, foster innovation, and bring together leading voices in evidence synthesis, transfer, and implementation. That mission remains unchanged. In 2026, the global EBHC community will come together online to reimagine evidence-based healthcare methodology for the future, with an experience designed to be every bit as engaging, interactive, and valuable as our in-person events.
Speakers
The online program will feature plenary sessions with international thought leaders, including researchers and innovators at the forefront of evidence synthesis, implementation science, and health policy. Keynote speakers will present live or via pre-recorded sessions, each followed by live Q&A. Attendees can also expect rapid-fire methodology sessions — a fast-paced platform for sharing innovations, emerging methods, and future directions through short, focused presentations designed to spark ideas and conversation.

Virtual Poster Session
The JBI iGNITE virtual poster session provides a platform to share your work. Submit your poster abstracts that present new ideas, ongoing research, recently published work (2024–2026), or preliminary findings in methodology research.
Virtual poster sessions will be assigned to dedicated breakout rooms, enabling presenters to walk attendees through their work and engage in direct Q&A. The format is designed to replicate the best aspects of the in-person poster walk experience, supporting genuine scholarly exchange and opportunities to connect with peers across disciplines and borders.
Reduced Registration Fees
A critical feature of the move online is significantly reduced registration fees. By lowering costs, JBI aims to ensure genuinely broader access — particularly for participants in low- and middle-income countries and those facing financial hardship — reinforcing its commitment to making participation accessible regardless of geography or financial circumstances.
JBI’s vision is ‘Better evidence. Better outcomes. Brighter future.’ Ensuring that the global conversations shaping EBHC methodology are accessible to all who contribute to them is not a concession — it is an expression of that vision.
Register for the JBI iGNITE global virtual event. The full virtual program will be released soon on the JBI iGNITE website.
Moving towards better evidence, better outcomes and a brighter future for all demands fresh perspectives, novel approaches and unconventional solutions. JBI iGNITE is an opportunity to anticipate what the future might have in store for us and ignite our imagination — bringing our global community together, wherever they are.
