Software for bridging the evidence to practice gap
JBI PACES helps get research into practice for better patient care
JBI has released the new and improved JBI PACES, enhanced online software that supports evidence-based practice.
JBI PACES provides all-in-one support for healthcare facilities undertaking quality improvement projects, audit and feedback cycles, evidence implementation initiatives and different types of research projects.
‘We are very excited about the new and improved JBI PACES’, says Assoc Prof Craig Lockwood, Director of Implementation Science at JBI:
‘What sets JBI PACES apart is its flexibility. JBI PACES supports any small or large-scale project, whether it’s quality improvement project or audit-and feedback cycle at a unit or clinic level, or a larger project undertaken across a large health service, organisation, or network. This is software designed to work with any workflow or current process, and is highly customisable.’
A large-scale project was recently conducted in PR China, with 74 hospitals across 32 cities participating. JBI PACES was used to undertake an audit project to standardise the pre-treatment assessment for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
‘We chose JBI PACES to guide this big multi-site evidence implementation project because it clearly guides the audit process, and the steps could be easily followed by clinical nurses who often don’t know how to apply evidence to clinical practice’, says Yanni Wu, project lead from Nanfang Hospital.
‘For a multi-site evidence implementation project, using the audit and re-audit method built into JBI PACES was a good way to keep the synchronization of the project across 74 hospitals and to better organize processes. JBI PACES also provided an easy but robust method for us to collect and analyse the compliance of each audit criteria. Just like a clinical nurse said: "After the project, I finally know how to apply the research evidence to the clinic!"’.
JBI PACES is fully integrated with the JBI EBP Database for rapid access to the best available evidence on diverse clinical topics at the point of care. Using JBI PACES, healthcare organisations can easily search fully integrated evidence-based audit criteria, outcome measurements, quality indicators, performance measures, or modify/create their own to create quality improvement projects; audit and feedback cycles; evidence implementation projects.
‘JBI PACES really does make it easier to initiate and sustain practice and behaviour change for better patient care’, says Assoc Prof Lockwood. Request a demo and see how getting research into practice is easier with JBI PACES.
