Setting the PACES: JBI's Rebuilt GRiP Module Accelerates Quality Improvement

JBI PACES Product Update released

In June 2024, JBI released a completely re-built version of its GRiP (Getting Research into Practice) module, embedded in JBI PACES software. The reimagined GRiP module offers unprecedented flexibility and efficiency in the planning and execution of evidence-based, quality improvement projects.

The new GRiP module introduces several unique features designed to streamline implementation processes and enhance the fidelity of reporting and action-taking. Users can now:

Target Specific Outcomes or Compliance Concerns

By selecting appropriate GRiP strategies, teams can focus their efforts on addressing precise outcome or compliance issues.

Create, Store, and Repurpose Implementation Elements

Barriers, enablers, and complete implementation strategies can be saved and reused across various sites and settings, significantly reducing redundancy and saving time.

Integrate Implementation Theories, Models, and Frameworks

Many organisations have a preferred model or framework. In JBI PACES data can be coded to align with preferred implementation theories, models, or frameworks, which enhances the fidelity of the implementation process.

Undertake Efficient Resource Sharing

The drag-and-drop functionality for files and resources facilitates rapid content sharing across the project team, promoting seamless collaboration.

Provide Analytic Reporting

The module allows for the export of results and analysis that clearly depict the relationship between compliance data and practice change strategies, aiding in transparent and effective reporting.

Incorporate enhanced Visuals for Communication

Users can export JBI PACES graphics and graphs directly into presentations, papers, or reports, improving the clarity and impact of their communications.

By incorporating these advanced features, the GRiP module ensures that teams can effectively manage practice changes, addressing specific outcome concerns and improving the overall quality of care.

"There is no other Quality Improvement tool that provides this feature or support," said Associate Professor Craig Lockwood, Director of Evidence Implementation at JBI.

“Developed by clinicians for clinicians, JBI PACES is quality improvement software that standardises processes and methods for safety and quality improvement, ultimately leading to better patient care. The re-built GRiP module now makes this process even more efficient and gives enhanced implementation fidelity”.

Getting Research into Practice is increasingly recognised as a human endeavour requiring the integration of the best available evidence, professional judgment, patient preferences, and a deep understanding of the context and setting. The practice change is dependent on a multidisciplinary, team-based approach that shifts culture, expectations, and norms by highlighting the necessity and importance of change in the immediate environment.

The GRiP module within JBI PACES provides a structured framework that guides teams through the change planning process, ensuring that patient care is evidence-based and of the highest quality. With its new features, the GRiP module offers unparalleled support for teams working to translate research into practice, ensuring that changes are evidence-based, contextually appropriate, and effectively implemented. This advancement not only saves time and resources but also enhances the overall fidelity and impact of quality improvement initiatives.
