JBI gLocal Solution Room 2024
Using global evidence in local contexts
At JBI, we understand that the challenges in establishing an evidence base, and the capacity to implement evidence, are diverse and vary between countries, regions, and cultures. The differences in economics, clinical expertise, health policy, health systems and resources often require strategies and solutions that are unique and specific to their local context. This understanding is what drives our commitment to strengthening the local use of global evidence through initiatives like the JBI gLocal Solution Room.
The JBI gLocal Solution Room is a week-long, free event, comprised of local events held all over the world, which aims to provide pragmatic solutions to challenges in getting evidence into practice in local settings. Each Solution Room is designed to empower clinicians and accelerate the adoption of evidence-based practices in diverse healthcare settings.
In strengthening the local use of global evidence, the JBI gLocal Solution Room aims to bridge the gap between global evidence and local practice and bring together clinicians, academics and policy-makers to serve as a synchronised, collaborative and widely accessible inter-regional space to promote evidence-based practice discussion and debate.
Last year in 2023, more than 30,000 clinicians attended the gLocal Solution Rooms worldwide, to find solutions to their unique challenges in applying evidence in their daily practice, which took place in events both online and in-person.

This year, during 3 – 9 June 2024, JBI and 36 JBI Collaborating Entities will host 29 free events across 18 countries worldwide- some of the countries including Romania, India, Denmark, Switzerland, Japan, Thailand, China, UK, US, Canada, and Australia. The local Solution Rooms feature panels of clinicians and implementation experts who will directly address participant questions regarding evidence-based practice challenges.
JBI recognises the importance of synchronised, accessible and inclusive spaces for international discussion and debate. The JBI gLocal Solution Room looks both at how global knowledge informs local evidence-based practices and how local experiences influence global thinking in evidence-based healthcare. Each JBI gLocal Solution Room aims to catalyse these two forces, contributing to knowledge-sharing efforts globally, expediting the integration of evidence into practice, which often takes an average of 17 years.
