JBI Evidence Synthesis
November 2023 issue released
The penultimate issue for this volume of JBI Evidence Synthesis has been released.
The November 2023 issue features a systematic review on the effects of a single intravenous dose of dexamethasone for postoperative nausea and vomiting prophylaxis in adults with diabetes undergoing elective surgery.
Editorial, Overcoming challenges with getting current evidence into practice, accompanies the systematic review, and discusses the importance of applying research findings to healthcare practices. The editorial uses the JBI Model of Evidence-based Healthcare to outline how evidence synthesis can help healthcare professionals bridge the gap between research and implementation. An editorial in motion summarises key points in the published editorial.
Another review explores the wants and needs of relatives involved in the care of patients with malignant brain tumours, drawing parallels with another scoping review on relatives of patients with acquired brain injuries. The accompanying editorial highlights the similarities and differences in the findings of the two scoping reviews.
The abstract for the scoping review is available in Danish and in German.
In addition to these reviews, we are excited to share a range of protocols for upcoming research. These protocols include:
Public health interventions to prevent adolescent vaping: a scoping review protocol
Prevalence of sleep disturbances in people with mild cognitive impairment: a systematic review protocol
Barriers and facilitators for adopting healthy lifestyles in breast cancer survivors: a scoping review protocol
