Welcome, USA PRESCIISE Chicago
JBI welcomes an expansion to our global family with a new Entity joining the JBI Collaboration.
Associate Professor Renee Manworren and her team from Lurie Children’s Paediatric Research & Evidence Synthesis Centre (PRESCIISE): A JBI Affiliated Group, are our second Chicago-based JBI Collaborating Entity. The new Entity sits within the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, which is the largest paediatric specialty provider in Illinois, and was the first children’s hospital in the country to earn the American Nurses Credentialing Centre’s Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence. This award recognises nursing excellence and quality patient care and 2020 was the fifth time that Lurie’s Children’s received this award. Lurie Children’s not only provides superior paediatric care, but also offers the latest innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design to children around the world.
We spoke to Assoc Prof Manworren and asked what current and future goals the team had whilst collaborating with JBI and the JBIC. Assoc Prof Manworren explained that:
‘Fuelled by JBI’s model of evidence-based healthcare, training programs, tools and global collaboration, PRESCIISE can effectively contribute to advancing quality outcomes of paediatric healthcare regionally, nationally and globally as a recognised leader and source for paediatric evidence-based care and implementation science that transforms the future of children’s health and wellness’.
When asked about areas of interest and specialty, Assoc Prof Manworren informed us that:
‘A unique aspect of Lurie Children’s influence is its geographic proximity to other hospitals recognised for providing state-of-the-art care and ranked in specific specialities. Lurie Children’s has been able to leverage their expertise to lead beyond their hospital walls and partner with these other healthcare systems to translate and implement evidence-based practices that are sensitive to children and organisational cultures of other hospitals in children’s Chicagoland communities.’
The team at PRESCIISE have many plans, which include conducting systematic reviews, providing education and coaching to stakeholders in JBI systematic review methods, and a model for incorporating evidence into clinical practice. We look forward to watching Assoc Prof Manworren and her team as they expand the implementation of evidence-based healthcare practices and engage with the global community to provide more PRESCIISE paediatric care for all children.
Welcome, Renee and team!. We look forward to working with you in the future and wish you all the best for 2021 and beyond.
