Revealed: the new JBI
The Joanna Briggs Institute, a recognised global leader in evidence-based healthcare for over 20 years, today announced its rebrand to JBI.
The comprehensive rebrand coincides with the launch of JBI’s five-year New Horizons strategic plan that focuses on innovation to achieve local and international impact and a brighter future for communities globally.
“JBI has changed and that is why our name has changed. We have evolved from what used to be a small research institute working within the Royal Adelaide Hospital named after the first matron, to a world-leading research organisation with collaborating partners in 40+ countries that helps researchers, policymakers and health professionals access, appraise and apply research evidence at the point of care” says Professor Zoe Jordan, Executive Director at JBI.
JBI’s new name and logo signify its evolution and captures how the organisation is known internationally today. That is, as ‘JBI’.
JBI’s logo has been refreshed and strengthened in recognition of the organisation’s new streamlined and agile business operations, but remains true to its origin, incorporating the red pebble of knowledge and blue ripples of change which are central to JBI’s mission and vision. This story and imagery are recognised all over the world as JBI’s trademark. The new rich colour palette is bold, confident, and representative of the quality and rigour that JBI is known for.
JBI’s rebrand is, however, not just cosmetic. In addition to the new graphic identity, JBI has re-launched its two international journals, with a streamlined focus on Evidence Synthesis and Evidence Implementation; released individual subscriptions to its comprehensive systematic review software, JBI SUMARI; rebuilt its clinical audit software that helps get research into practice, JBI PACES; redesigned its evidence-based point of care resources to improve end-user experience; and renewed its partnership with international publisher, Wolters Kluwer Health.
“Just as the global evidence community must continue to evolve to remain at the forefront of varying and disparate global health needs, we needed to re-examine our purpose and how we can deliver new value in the world of evidence-based healthcare, where agility and digital evolution are synonymous with innovation” says Zoe Jordan.
To do this, JBI has made significant internal changes over the last five years, all of which have been carefully designed to improve the quality, currency, relevance, and accessibility of its research evidence, software applications, and education and training programs.
“JBI remains strategically driven to help get research into practice. That is why the goal over the next five years is to provide high quality, cutting edge and practical resources that help improve health outcomes at the point of care.”
“Our vision of better evidence, better outcomes and brighter future (for everyone) is our driving force, and our transformation over the past 24 years has placed JBI in a stronger position to be a leader in evidence-based healthcare” says Zoe Jordan.
