Primary healthcare and COVID-19 in Ethiopia
A case study
Dr Morankar Sudhakar, Director of the Ethiopian Evidenced Based Healthcare and Development Centre, a JBI Centre of Excellence, has led a team of researchers to report on primary healthcare in the context of the COVID-19 in Ethiopia.
The report, ‘Ethiopia: a primary health care case study in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic’, was commissioned by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research and World Health Organization Special Programme on Primary Health Care.
The case study identifies and highlights key insights into the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how Ethiopia harnessed a primary healthcare approach for steering their health system’s response during the crisis.
The Ethiopia case study is one of almost 50 in-country case studies that examines primary healthcare in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
