JBIC welcomes new Thailand entity
Elevating research efforts with JBI
The JBI Collaboration (JBIC) continues to grow, and we are excited to welcome our first JBIC Entity from Bangkok and our third JBIC Entity established in beautiful Thailand- the Mahidol University Ramathibodi School of Nursing: A JBI Affiliated Group
Our newest Thai centre is based in Ramathibodi School of Nursing at Mahidol University. Mahidol University was established in 1888 and is the oldest higher-learning institution in Thailand. Mahidol University has since developed into one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand, internationally known and recognised for its high calibre of research and teaching by its faculty, as well as its outstanding achievements in teaching, research, international academic collaboration and professional services. The Ramathibodi School of Nursing was founded on 27 July 1965 as part of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital at the Mahidol University.
Representatives from Ramathibodi School of Nursing at Mahidol University had previously visited Adelaide to meet with JBI staff and to tour the University of Adelaide. At that time, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed. Since then, a legal agreement has been signed to officially join the JBI Collaboration as a JBI Affiliated Group. Convenor of the JBI Affiliated Group, Dr Porawan Witwaranukool, explains that joining the JBI Collaboration will elevate their research efforts through collaborative projects and exchanging knowledge and expertise. Their group is dedicated to providing important advances in nursing knowledge and understanding by focusing on specific areas, contextualising evidence, distributing their findings and identifying knowledge gaps. Dr Witwaranukool says:
We are excited to promote and support evidence-informed approaches to health policy and practice within the regional jurisdiction and create a network of stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, educators and representatives from patient advocacy groups, to facilitate collaboration and knowledge exchange.
