JBI Evidence Synthesis achieves first impact factor of 2.7
Strengthening the journal's reputation as a high-quality and trustworthy publication
JBI Evidence Synthesis, a multidisciplinary journal that publishes the best available evidence to inform health policy and practice, proudly announces its first Impact Factor (2022) of 2.7.
For over a decade, JBI Evidence Synthesis has been publishing a range of rigorous systematic reviews that move beyond effectiveness, and span all healthcare professions, and diverse contexts and health conditions.
Editor in Chief, Associate Professor Edoardo Aromataris, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, "After 10 years of effort and learning, we can finally deliver on the demand from our society since we began this journey together. This marks a significant milestone for our journal and reflects recognition of our journal's development into a high-quality publication."
JBI Evidence Synthesis was eligible to receive a Journal Impact Factor as a Web of Science Core Collection journal that passed rigorous Web of Science quality criteria:
“This indicator helps the scholarly community more easily identify trustworthy, high-quality journals that have been selected by the Web of Science editorial team. Selection is only granted to journals that have met the 24 rigorous quality criteria applied on evaluation ...Just 15% of journals evaluated by an in-house editorial team pass this high-quality bar" - Clarivate
The achievement of an Impact Factor further strengthens the reputation and credibility of JBI Evidence Synthesis and helps researchers and practitioners identify trustworthy and high-quality journals that have undergone rigorous evaluation and selection processes.
Associate Professor Aromataris acknowledged the collaborative effort of numerous individuals who contributed to this achievement. He expressed his gratitude towards past and current members of the Editorial Office in Adelaide, the Advisory Board, the panel of editors, and the many hundreds volunteer peer reviewers who have played vital roles in establishing and maintaining the journal's high standards. He also emphasised that the authors and their submissions are the backbone of JBI Evidence Synthesis:
“The most critical element, is of course, the authors and their submissions. Without their inquisitive minds and willingness to turn attention to answer questions to improve health services, outcomes and research, none of this would be possible. Thank you all for your ongoing support."
With its inaugural Impact Factor, JBI Evidence Synthesis solidifies its position as a trusted source of evidence-based information in healthcare. As the journal continues to evolve and expand its reach, it remains committed to delivering high-quality research that drives positive change in the field and improves health outcomes worldwide.
