India's newest JBC Entity
Evidence-based healthcare is fast becoming a focal point of India’s education and health sectors.
JBI is delighted by such growth and recently welcomed the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Centre for Evidence Based Education and Healthcare: A Joanna Briggs Institute Affiliated Group into the JBI global family.
The Centre’s host institution, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth (SV), is an interdisciplinary hospital associated with Dhiraj Hospital teaching hospital. SV is devoted to innovations in teaching and research, with a vision to build global competence by fostering a culture of evidence-based higher education and teaching. In light of this, SV was granted ‘De-novo’ status in 2007 by the Government of India, in recognition of the institution’s devotion to innovations in teaching and research in unique and emerging areas of knowledge.
With a focus on continuous improvement, and to meet SV’s vision and goals, the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Centre for Evidence Based Education and Healthcare: A Joanna Briggs Institute Affiliated Group was established to create an opportunity for clinicians and academics to make a significant impact on worldwide health burdens of communicable and non-communicable diseases through evidence generation, synthesis, transfer and utilisation.
Director Dr Prasad Muley highlights the significant impact being a member of the Joanna Briggs Collaboration will have on the Centre:
“Using JBI’s world-class resources, databases and software we will boost capacity to generate quality evidence in the form of systematic reviews and meta-analyses. With our affiliation with JBI we expect the multidisciplinary fields of SV to further research in their respective fields.”
The Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Centre for Evidence Based Education and Healthcare: A Joanna Briggs Institute Affiliated Group shares JBI’s vision of ‘Better evidence. Better outcomes. Brighter future’ and will play an important role in its mission to promote and support evidence-based healthcare globally.
