Landmark scoping review maps global landscape
A new scoping review published in JBI Evidence Synthesis in April 2025 provides an unprecedented overview of global research and scholarly publications on chiropractic education and training.
Led by Claire D. Johnson and Brooke N. Green with a diverse international team of 33 authors, the study systematically analysed indexed literature from the inception of relevant databases up to November 2023.
The findings provide insights into the volume, nature, topics, and research designs within the field of chiropractic education, addressing a significant gap in the understanding of this global health profession.
As the first comprehensive analysis of its kind, the study lays a strong foundation for advancing the chiropractic field. It not only maps the existing research landscape but also sets the stage for evaluating the content and quality of current scholarship. Ultimately, it aims to support the development of a global chiropractic education research agenda and define person-centred learning outcomes.
This study serves as a valuable resource for academics, researchers, policymakers, and educational leaders within the chiropractic profession and beyond.
