What are preventive nursing interventions for perinatal depression among fathers and mothers?
Participants included will be pregnant women and new (less than one year postpartum) mothers as well as their male partners, including those at no known risk and those identified as at-risk for developing perinatal depression.
Those with formal diagnosis of depression will be excluded.
Preventive nursing interventions include any form of nursing care intended to prevent perinatal depression. These could be delivered via face-to-face, group-based, internet-based, community-based, print-based or combined.
Treatments for existing depression (e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, pharmacological treatment) will be excluded.
This review will include all ethnic groups and geographic locations.
