OBJECTIVE: To investigate interventions improving patient experience in mammogaphy.
This review will consider studies that include women or men undergoing screening or diagnostic mammography.
Concept: This review will consider studies that explore interventions related to (i) patient collaboration, (ii) breast compression technique, (iii) procedure of the mammogram examination, (iv) healthcare professional (communication, and education and training), (v) physical environment and equipment, and (vi) patient preparation undergoing mammography.
This scoping review will also identify and map outcomes related to patient experience and satisfaction, healthcare professional perspectives and clinical outcomes.
Context: Studies from all types of mammography departments will be considered (clinical centres or mobile units; private or public; screening or diagnostic settings); without geographical or cultural limitation.
